abstract = "Spin polarized electron photoemission for GaAs/GaAs 1-xPx strained superlattice cathodes grown by gas-source molecular beam epitaxy was studied. The superlattice parameters were varied in order to optimize the photoemission characteristics. Heavy and light hole transitions were observed in the quantum efficiency spectra, which enabled direct measurement of the band energies and energy splitting. Electron-spin polarization up to 86% with over 1% quantum efficiency was also observed.",
