title = "Surface-modified Polysulfone Hollow Fibers with Hydrophilic Group Having Improved Haemocompatibility",
abstract = "The polymerization of vinylpyrrolidone (PVP) or zwitter-ionic sulfoalkylbetaine (SPE) on the surface of the polysulfone (PSf) hollow fibers was investigated. It was found that the membranes used for chemical modification were PSf hollow fibers or ultrafiltration membranes having molecular weight cut-off of 6000. The results suggested that the hydrophilic surface of surface-modified PSf membranes suppressed platelet adhesion to PSf membranes. The results show that the PVP, SPE and aspartic acid (ASP) immobilized on the surface-modified PSf membranes contributed to the hydrophilic and haemocompatible sites on the surface of the PSf membranes.",
