摘要
Possible usage of visible light for therapy has been investigated for many years. Visible light was used not only as a potential activator of photoactive therapeutic agents but also as therapeutic agent itself, although it remains unclear how the visible light interacts with tissue and cells. Only suppressed effect of neurite outgrowth was reported in our previous study.1,2 Herein, we report the effect of light wavelength on the regulation of neurite outgrowth by light irradiation of several wavelength (i.e., 455, 470, 525, 600, 630, 880 and 945 nm) on PC12 cells using LED light. Not only the suppressed neurite outgrowth but also extended neurite outgrowth was investigated by the irradiation of specific wavelength of light using LED light in this study.
