摘要

The effectiveness of applying non-thermal plasma for destroying VOCs from gas streams is experimentally investigated. For this study, p-xylene is selected as the target pollutant. Operating parameters investigated include applied voltage, temperature and composition of the gas stream. Results indicate that as high as 100% p-xylene removal efficiencies can be achieved. The end-products are also examined using FTIR. Overall, the results demonstrate the potential for applying non-thermal plasma process as a viable alternate technology for destroying VOCs from gas streams.
