摘要

Differential confocal microscopy (dcm) was used to measure thermal fluctuation and bending rigidity of lipid bilayers. A laser beam was used to measure deformation by exerting optical force along the optical axis. The bending modulus was dervied from a change in free energy caused by deformation. The experimental technique found a change in the bending modulus across phase transitions in lipid bilayers.
