title = "Improvement effects of quicklime pile on soft cohesive soils",
abstract = "This research examined the properties of shear strength of composite soils with one or four quicklime piles set in each specimen, and then investigated the mechanism of radial consolidation induced by the expansion behavior of quicklime pile. It is found that finer piles with a shorter pitch will offer a better improvement effect with the same quantity of quicklime. As the overburden pressure reached a certain value, such as 196.1 kPa, the improving effect will not be apparent due to the expansion behavior of quicklime pile.",
