High-intensity turbulent premixed combustion: From ignition transition to flame global quench

摘要

This note reviews recent high-intensity turbulent premixed combustion studies covering both turbulent-flamelet and turbulent-distributed regimes from the beginning of combustion (ignition) to the end of combustion (global quench). In it dynamics of premixed turbulent ignition are first reviewed showing an ignition transition and distributed-like flame kernels. Then criteria of flame global quenching (GQ) by intense turbulence are reviewed. Both ignition and GQ results showing different modes of combustion are carefully compared and used to evaluate the boundary of the regime diagram characterizing by various time, length, velocity and diffusivity ratios between turbulence and chemical reaction. Discussions are offered and further studies are identified.
