摘要
The electron-flux variations in the outer radiation belt during a strong magnetic storm on April 17, 1994, are analyzed using the CORONAS-I satellite data. The changes in the positions of the boundaries of the outer radiation belt on the day-and nightsides of the Earth and in the positions of the electron-flux maxima in the energy range 0.5-1.3 MeV during the time period from 12:00 UT, April 16, 1994, to 24:00 UT, April 17, 1994, are discussed. The lowering of the dayside boundary latitude is due to the earthward movement of the magnetopause in the magnetic field affected by geomagnetic disturbances. During the storm recovery phase, the latitude of the boundary is restored to its prestorm value. The boundary latitude on the nightside of the Earth varies in a more irregular manner.
