摘要

A study was performed on the explosive and oscillatory tearing-mode instability in gyrotropic plasmas. The study was carried out based on the linear gyrotropic magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) theory. It was found that the resistive tearing instability might lead to plasma flow velocity comparable to the Alfvén speed.
