摘要

This paper is devoted to evaluating an endochronic theory accounted for deformation induced anisotropy. To this end, experimental data obtained by Wu and Yeh for 304 stainless steel subjected to proportionally axial-torsional loading were employed for comparison with theoretical results. In this paper, the endochronic theory of plasticity is briefly reviewed. The method leading to describe the subsequent yield surface is presented. Comparisons between the theoretical and experimental results are presented and discussed. The result has shown that the theory leading to anisotropic yield function can reasonably describe plastic behavior of the subsequent yield surface in the axial-torsional space. In particular, the theory can predict quantitatively well the Bauschinger effect, reflecting to the `knee' portion of the stress-strain hysteresis loops.
