Electrowetting on nanofilament silicon for matrix-free laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry

摘要

Matrix-free laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry (LDI-MS) using nanofilament Si substrates combined with electrowetting is demonstrated for high-sensitivity analysis of small molecules such as low molecular weight peptides. Individual peptides have been measured with a detection limit of 12 amol, and peptide mass fingerprinting is achieved from tryptic digests of BSA with loadings as low as 150 amol.
