摘要
In this paper, an optimization methodology based on the surrogate model is proposed to synthesize arbitrary equivalent isotropically radiated power (EIRP) patterns of a THz phased array. The optimization algorithm is implemented in PyAEDT, a Python library recently developed by ANSYS that can directly interact with HFSS (electromagnetic simulation software), where the mutual coupling effect and the element pattern are considered comprehensively. The simulated results reveal that the method works well, while conventional beamforming algorithms based on the array factor calculation are insufficient to precisely assess the EIRP performance of the THz phased array. The proposed high-fidelity optimization technique has a potential for accurate and fast EIRP pattern synthesis of THz phased arrays.
