title = "Efficient computation of multiscale entropy in biomedicine",
abstract = "Multiscale entropy (MSE) is a measurement of a system's complexity. It has been successfully verified and applied in biological signals and others. However, the algorithms proposed in the literature require a quadratic execution time. In this paper, we develop a new algorithm to reduce the computational time using an integer type of data storage for biomedicine signals. The execution times of experimental results with RR and EEG signals show a significant improvement from 20 to 100 times compared to the method proposed in the literature for N = 80,000.",
