摘要
Methods have been developed for fractionation and analysis of the dissolved organic carbon (DOC) in advanced treated effluent of Water Factory 21 (WF21) and in ground water recharged by WF21 effluent. The analytical method involves fractionation into humic, fulvic and hydrophilic fractions, elemental analysis and H NMR spectroscopy, and specific compound analysis using GC/MS. Chlorinated granular activated carbon effluent, reverse osmosis effluent, and ground water from a well 16 m downgradient of direct injection were analyzed with this methodology. As a result, the hydrophilic and fulvic acid fractions in the two WF21 effluents constituted approximately 50% and 33% of the DOC, respectively. Further results are presented.
