Design of a new type of baffle for a space camera

摘要

Space cameras are used in special environments, and operate under envi-ronmental stray light energy, which is much higher than the signal energy; therefore, a lens hood is required to suppress environmental stray light. This study used point source transmittance to evaluate the shielding efficiency of a lens hood, and obtained the basis of environmental stray light suppression from the relationship between the acceptable signal intensity for a space camera and stray light. This study designed a standard for a two stage lens hood that is able to suppress environmental stray light by absorbing and reect-ing it, and simulated the effect of a lens hood on stray light through the optical software, TracePro. The obtained point source transmittance proved that the designed lens hood could effectively suppress stray light and meet the performance criteria of a lens hood for a space camera.
