The authors regret to inform about a missing citation entitled “Terry, J.P. and Feng, C.C. 2010. On quantifying the sinuosity of typhoon tracks in the western North Pacific basin. Applied Geography, 30, 678–686. doi:https://doi.org/10.1016/j.apgeog.2010.01.007” in the published version of our manuscript. The missing citation also attempts track shape based analysis of typhoons in the North West Pacific, whereas our paper supersedes it with a track “sinuosity index” (introduced in 2011 by Terry & Gienko) and several vital analyses by using an extended set of tropical storm data. The authors would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.
