abstract = "This study investigates the synchronisation problem for the unified chaotic systems with bounded uncertain parameters. Based on the error system between the master and slave systems, Lyapunov theory and the finite-time stability are utilised to synthesise the controller such that the robust synchronisation is achieved within a finite convergence time, where the convergence time depends on two constants and which are called the exponential convergence and finite-time convergence rates, respectively. In the proposed theorem, the postive values of and can be assigned by the designer such that the proposed control low can guarantee the master system which is synchronised by the slave system within a finite convergence time. Moreover, the design procedure and numerical examples are provided to demonstrate the validity and the robustness of the proposed synchronisation scheme.",

He received is PhD degree from the Institute of Electronics from National Chiao-Tung University of Taiwan in 1987. He is presently a Chair Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, National Central University, Chung-Li, Taiwan. He has published more than 120 journal papers and 120 conference papers. He received the Distinguished Research Award from the National Science Council of Taiwan in 1999, 2001 and 2003, respectively. He is an IEEE fellow and serves as a member of the editorial board of numerous journals, including the Asian Journal of Control, the International Journal of Electrical Engineers, IEEE Transactions of Fuzzy Systems and IEEE Transactions of Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Part–B. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Fuzzy Systems. His research interests include the areas of fuzzy theory and systems, robust control, neural networks and pattern recognition.",
