摘要
The axisymmetric mode of vortex breakdown has been studied by solving the incompressible, axi-symmetric, unsteady Navier-Stokes equations. The equations are cast into the streamfunction-vorticity formulation and solved with the predict or-corrector-multiple-iteration (PCMI) finite difference method. Effects of inflow, wall boundary conditions and Reynolds number on breakdown structure were emphasized. Numerical results predicted breakdown-bubble and the evolution of breakdown can be steady, periodic, or unsteady depends on these effects. Computed solutions show many similar flow characters that observed in experiment.
