摘要
The applications of Hilbert-Huang transformation for speech and vibration signal analysis were discussed. The sound in speech was generated by three mechanisms which include the vibration of the vocal chords, the friction of air through construction of the vocal tract and the explosion of a sudden release of the air from complete closure of the vocal tract. The vowels were generated by the vibration of the vocal chord with unrestricted passage of air. In speech recognition, the precise analysis of the consonant signals was crucial.
