We are especially grateful to Prof. Xavier Le Pichon who is one of the pioneers on the Taiwan–France Geosciences Cooperation and gave a keynote speech for the GEEA meeting. We acknowledge all the members in the advisory board and the scientific committee and the GEEA meeting staff (especially the students at NCU) to have made the GEEA meeting successful. Finally, we are grateful to all the reviewers who made a lot of efforts in improving the papers collected in this volume.
