An innovative injection-locked frequency divider with transformer transconductance-boosted technique

摘要

An innovative injection-locked frequency divider (ILFD) with transformer transconductance (gm)-boosted technique is proposed in this paper. By using the gm-boosted technique to enhance the effective gm, the locking range of the ILFD can be further increased. The proposed ILFD was implemented in 0.18 m CMOS process. The measured locking range is from 24.6 to 27 GHz, for a locking range of 2.4 GHz, without varactor tuning. The output power is higher than 11 dBm, and the core DC power consumption is only 2 mW.
