摘要
This study describes a novel product of a passive electronic seal and explains how it can be applied to the automatic container tracking system deployed in Taiwan. This system enables immediate and automatic identification and tracking of a sealed container during its inland transportation. A truck loaded with an e-sealed container will be stopped for physical inspection at checkpoints if the read data does not match the record in the database. Qualified marine shipping operators can use this system to replace manual escort and to reduce inspection time for transshipped containers. This system is a world first and has demonstrated significant improvements in both costs and productivity. Because there is no existing global standard for passive electronic seals, this product has also proposed its business requirements to the EPCglobal for the potential creation of a new standard.
