摘要

Some of the papers on advances in the analytical and simulation based modeling and evaluation of new challenges in the communication systems are presented from the IEEE 21st International Conference on Advanced Information Networking and Applications (AINA-07) held in Canada, May 21-23, 2007. Duresi and Paruchuri proposed Adaptive Backbone Protocol (ABP), a lightweight protocol for distributed formation of a backbone over Heterogeneous Wireless Networks. Tahir and Mazunder developed a three-state discrete time Markov-chain model to analyze the carrier sense multiple access (CSMA) type MAC protocol for its delay and throughput characteristics with and without transmitter power control. Shakshuki and colleagues proposed an agent-based directed diffusion approach which claim to maximize the node life time in sensor network by introducing mobile agents. Rodrigo and colleagues proposed RouteGA (Route with Genetic Algorithm support) which considers information on parallel application behavior and computer capacities.
