title = "A two-stage gap-filling method for Landsat 7 SLC-off images",
abstract = "The Scan Line Corrector (SLC) of Landsat 7 ETM Plus used to compensate the forward motion of whisk-broom sensor has malfunctioned on May 31, 2003. As a result, the images acquired from Landsat 7 have data gaps. In this study, a two-stage approach for filling the gapped pixels of Landsat 7 image is proposed. {"}Filling by mapping{"} method is employed in the stage 1 and {"}filling by interpolating{"} method is employed in the stage 2. In order to avoid filling the changed pixels, stage 1 or stage 2 is chosen to fill the gapped pixel depends on correlation. The experimental results show that no obvious visual discontinuities are observed in Landsat SLC images. In addition, the accuracy assessment of experimental results proves the two-stage gap-filling method is better than traditional methods.",
