A fine-grained access control scheme for secure video multicast

In the traditional Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), all encrypted video data can only be delivered by unicast delivery due to the nature of each unique private key. In this letter, we introduce a fine-grained access control scheme for secure video multicast. Video data are endowed with certain attributes and only the corresponding clients possessing these certain attributes are entitled to access the video data. As a result, the proposed scheme can enjoy the benefit of one-to-many multicast. To sum up, the proposed scheme can offer 1) fine-grained access control for video data; 2) fewer bandwidth costs and computational costs; 3) one-to-many multicast advantage in secure video delivery; and 4) the security requirements like the confidentiality and subscriber authentication.
