摘要
With our population aging, the need of long-term care (LTC) services is increasing year by year. This also makes people pay attention to the operations of LTC services. But in recent years, the number of fire casualties in LTC facilities is also escalating. Literature shows that neither increasing the frequency of fire exercises nor improving the nurse-patient ratio is an effective method. In this study, building information modeling and ontology are utilized to automatically plan rescue routes, considering a LTC facility with complex floor plans and with building components and materials requiring destruction. The proposed approach can accommodate various real-time changes due to physical status of firefighters, environmental constraints, and the issues related to forcible entry tools. Operations of LTC facilities may become safer if the proposed system is employed.
