組織簡介
中大是一所以理工為主的大學，人文社會科學學門在中大校園環境中顯得較為弱勢，因此早期以共同科教育補足學科失衡現象。1984年教育部通令各大學實施通識教育，中央大學由「共同學科」執行。1993年，教育部通令台灣各大學，通識教育學分自原有之4-6學分增加為8學分，各大學始有較積極之反應。中央大學也自1993年起，在劉兆漢校長全力支持下開始通識教育改進研究計劃，奠定了今日中大通識教育之基礎。
