Abstract

Wavelet transform and principal components analysis were combined to fuse high-resolution panchromatic images and low-resolution multispectral images. The image fusion enhanced the spatial quality of the multispectral images while preserving its spectral contents to a greater extent. It was found that the fusion approach improved the effect of topographic normalization using RIM-HSDC method.
