Using curved mirror for the design of highly efficient blue-ray pickup head

Abstract

We present a reflective beam expander over the laser diode and apply it to the blue-ray pickup head. In the system of pickup head, we change the shape of the laser diode beam from elliptic into circular to make the diode beam more efficient. We use the curved mirror to reduce the angular difference of the emissive angles in the horizontal and vertical directions.
