Abstract

In this paper, we propose a practical image retrieval scheme is developed to retrieve images efficiently. The proposed scheme transfers each MLB sports image to a color chain using straightforward 8 rules. Subsequently, using the color chains to compare the images, namely color chains comparison. We succeed in transferring the image retrieval problem to chains comparison. Thus the computational complexity is decreased obviously. Our system keeps both advantages of the content based image retrieval system (similarity-based retrieval) and a text based image retrieval system (very rapid and mature).
