Abstract

The space-frequency coded orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) system which concatenates space-time block coding with trellis coded modulation can efficiently achieve the full diversity provided by the fading channel. Based on this approach, we propose two schemes of space-frequency coded OFDM, in which large diversity can be obtained with low trellis complexity. Consequently, our schemes can exploit the full diversity order with lower trellis complexity than the original scheme.
