Abstract

Pyrolysis and catalytic conversion of PCDD/Fs onto the fly ash matrix were investigated. PCDD/Fs homologue profiles in the fly ash matrix show the ratio of PCDD to PCDF either greater than 1 or less than 1. It was found that PCDD/Fs concentration in the ash samples from the heat recovery units increases from the upstream (i.e. superheater) to the downstream (i.e. economizer). PCDD/F concentration was found to range from 0.15 ng/g to 33.14 ng/g.
