Abstract
Estimation of the radar rainfall for torrential rain during Typhoon Nari (2001) was performed. The radar reflectivity field was compared to the reflectivity calculated from the observed DSD. The area rainfall from rain gauge network were used as verification of radar estimate. The disdrometer measurements are consistent with the vertical velocity measurements in the lower troposphere by UHF radar measurements.
