Abstract
The effect of topological deformation on the diffusivity and mobility of a knotted polymer chain was investigated using Monte Carlo simulations. The Nernst-Einstein relation was obeyed and the diffusivity was found propotional to the mobility. The mobility decreased on increasing the crossing number of the polymer. Results of scaling analysis and simulations indicated that the deformation yielded an extra contribution to the resistance associated with a linear chain.
