Abstract

MoO3/AlPO4-5 catalysts of various molybdena loading were prepared by impregnation. The properties of these catalysts were examined by XRD and TPR, and their activities were tested by partial oxidation of isopropanol. The maximum non-crystalline loading of molybdenum was found to be 3.4 wt% by XRD. A loss of AlPO4-5 crystallinity was also found by XRD to be in proportion to molybdenum loading. Three different molybdena species were found with TPR. The species change with molybdena loading. Catalyst activities were tested in temperatures between 399 and 419 K. The maximum conversion was found at 2 wt% Mo. High acetone selectivity was obtained with low Mo loading.
