Abstract

A seamless spectrum handover considering differential frequency channels is proposed to reduce the number of inter-cell handoff and to reduce the blocking/dropping probability of unlicensed secondary users (SUs). A twodimensional markov chain model is proposed to evaluate the performance of the proposed handoff spectrum scheme. The proposed scheme can reduce the blocking rate and dropping rate of real-time and non-real-time SUs in order to enhance service quality with seamless spectrum handover in multi-cell cognitive radio networks, thereby improving overall system performance.
