Abstract

An error concealment algorithm based on fuzzy set theory was developed to repair damaged portions of the shape information. A fuzzy set was described on the vague boundary interval and the center of gravity defuzzification technique was used to determine the boundary in the row. The results show that the algorithm performed better than the previous works especially in the case where the damaged portion includes the edge of the object.
