Response of the cochlear basilar membrane to rising frequency sweep

Abstract

In this paper, the displacement response of the cochlear membrane, when subjected to a specific rising frequency sweep (from 450 Hz to 12000 Hz in 0·005 18 s), is computed. The computation is based on a 3-D WKB model developed by Steele at Stanford University. The method of calculation employs an application of the Fast Fourier Transforms (FFT).
