Abstract

Continuous monitoring with UV‐absorbance was used to obtain coupling reaction rates between t‐Boc amino symmetrical anhydrides and the amino terminus of the peptide by solid phase synthesis. A kinetic model was established for the synthesis of polyserine and polyphenylalanine with rate constants determined over selected reaction temperatures, mixing rates, peptide chain lengths, and excess mole ratios of t‐Boc amino acid.
