Abstract

We present an active type of microfluidic paper-based analytical devices (μPADs) flow control/valve device. The flow velocity in the μPADs is controlled by a positioning the screw driven PMMA valve block against the paper to change paper pore sizes. This screw drive valve device can be programmable and automatic control for multi-step μPADs flow control and manipulation.
