Abstract

In this paper we study theoretically the superlensing phenomenon of light by photonic crystal structures. The light wave at any space point is calculated by using the multiple scattering method. By carefully analyzing the influences of a number of parameters on the imaging characteristics, we find that negative refraction is not directly related to the subwavelength imaging phenomenon.
