Plume segmentation using local entropic thresholding

Abstract

An approach for segmenting plume using local entropic thresholding is proposed. Several threshold values are calculated by using entropy measurement on a cooccurrence matrix of an image. These threshold values are used to segment the image into a lower-level image which consists of a few regions, and plume is just consist of some adjacent regions. Finally several experiments are conducted to examine how the proposed approach performs.
