Abstract

A novel algorithm for all-optical interconnection between 2D and 2D patterns is proposed. With use of random phase encoding, a quasi 2D-2D interconnection is performed. The capacity of the quasi 2D-2D interconnection is obtained as high as 34 image pairs through a special design of the input pattern in the simulation. The experiment and simulation are presented and the application to translation between a Chinese word pattern to an English word one is demonstrated.
