Abstract
In a Nd3+ laser rod, "less heat generation" due to intracavity beam reduces the thermal lensing power, but this phenomenon has never been considered in previous publications dealing with resonator stability. We observed this effect in a Nd:YAG resonator specially designed to keep the beam divergence insensitive to thermal lensing, and investigated how this effect affects the stability range of this resonator.
