Abstract
The electron spectra of the HCCl and DCCl Ã-X̃ vibronic bands were acquired using an intensified charge-coupled device detector. It was observed that dispersed fluorescence spectra exhibited the vibrational structure up to ≈6000 cm-1 above the zero-point level. Detailed vibrational parameters including anharmonicities and bend-stretch vibrational coupling constants were obtained. The triplet singlet gap was determined to be at ≈2167 cm-1 in HCCl and 2187 cm-1 in DCCl.
