Multiplexed edge-lit holograms

Abstract

We present a novel multiplexing storage technique for edge-lit volume holograms. Multiholograms are stored in a photorefractive plate using vertical shifting multiplexing and random phase encoding. The unpolished edge surface of a photorefractive plate serves as the random phase generator. The vertical shifting sensitivity is experimentally investigated.
