Abstract

In 1996, a version of decision feedback differential detection (DFDD) was proposed for detecting differentially encoded 16-level amplitude/phase shift keying (16 DAPSK) signals. The authors propose two modified DFDD methods, each of which uses an amplitude-state indicator. Both DFDD methods provide an improved error performance compared with the original DFDD.
