Abstract

Melanoma is one of three skin cancer types and the main reason for almost all skin cancer deaths. The computer-aided diagnosis is the best method to automatically segment the skin lesion such as melanoma. In this paper, a modified attention spatial convolution (mASC) was designed to perform the skin lesion segmentation effectively. The superiority in skin lesion segmentation of the proposed mASC model was demonstrated by comparing with several recent models in the Skin Lesion Analysis Towards Melanoma Detection Challenge dataset.
