Abstract

The crystal structure of Mo3P5SiO19 has been determined from single-crystal X-ray diffraction data. Mo3P5SiO19 crystallizes in the hexagonal space groupP63 (No. 173) witha = b = 14.692(4)A °,c = 7.394(4)A °,Z = 4, R = 0.043 (Rw = 0.034) for 1477 reflections withI > 3 σ (I). The structure contains an unusual confacial bioctahedral Mo2O9 cluster with a Mo{single bond}Mo bond.
