Abstract

In this paper, a miniature wideband six-port network implemented in a silicon-based integrated passive device process is presented. A very compact circuit size is achieved by using bridged-T coil-based power divider and quadrature hybrid coupler designs. Specifically, the proposed 2-GHz six-port network features a 10-dB input return loss bandwidth of 74.8% and a very compact chip size of 8 mm × 8 mm, which is only about 0.053λ0 × 0.053λ0 at 2 GHz. It can help introduce the six-port technology to handheld mobile applications.
